Prince Georges County Planning Department
Placemaking
This past summer, I had the opportunity to do visual media for the Prince Georges County Planning Department's Placemaking Section. I created a photo/video archive of ongoing projects and community outreach events. The three main projects
projects I worked on were the World Cup Watch Parties, The Seat Pleasant E3 Learning Lab
and the Suitland Cultural Arts Implementation Strategy.

Placemaking is the act of activating spaces within the community through community engagement and local partnerships to transform spaces into environments that strengthen community relationships, health and local businesses

Who are you rooting for?
This is an instagram reel I made for the World Cup Watch Party
at Heurich Park in Hyattsville. The goal was to create a fun segment asking
each viewer who they were rooting for to create excitement and
engage residents at the watch party

In  2021, Prince Georges County conducted a Cultural Arts study to identify areas within the County  that would  could sustain Economic development through Cultural Arts and Placemaking. Suitland was selected as the area to receive creative arts investment and redevelopment over the next decade due to its rich history and arts community. Over the summer I archived images that marked the beginning of arts projects that will benefit the community over the next 10 years, along with important landmarks in their current state. These images will be used in a public facing document scheduled for release in late 2026, early 2027.
